My chosen profession
For my specialisation I have decided to take up 3D modelling, I have chosen this because I love 3D modelling but I also hope to expand my skills so I can learn about 3D rigging and to learn to animate my objects so that would look good in an environment scene. But for my main profession I choose to be a 3D modeller so I can expand my skills in the second year.
Workflow
A workflow is a pattern that someone will wok in, almost like a process they will go through they might change depending on their objective or how/what they are giver to start with

Here we see my first example of a 3D modelling workflow, this example of the workflow is in my opinion unnecessary but we can see that this workflow has one start an one finish with paths going imbetween them, we see that this workflow has three paths near the start of the page which differs and how the user will go about in this process and which will be best and/or easier for that person, this does notable have only one ending so no matter the choices the result will be the same but the finished product may differ in how well its condition is

Here is the second example of a 3D modelers workflow, this workflow is much simpler as it can be done in applications and game engines, this workflow also notably has 3 endings which will be for different things to do with the model, for example the animation path can be texture afterwards in most applications so you could expand on the animation path but that hast been put into this workflow. This workflow is very much simpler that the first one and is simple to follow
In terns of the two workflows, while the first workflow is very specific the second one is much simpler and much more direct in what exactly hat to do with the models based on hat your doing with them. I might also add that the second workflow is much better suited to my style of modelling as I do the same/similar things in the order which allows me to work effectively hen I am working on my projects.
Historical influences
I robot the video game (Released 1984). This is the first ever 3D game. The game consists of 26 levels and when you complete the game, they restarted the levels with a new colour scheme and on a harder difficulty. This was the first 3D game to be put in arcades around the globe. It had some revolutionary features like changing the camera angles. This game had lots of effects on the video game history as it creates the 3D models in games as it had to adjust its rendering depending on the camera angle so the models had to be view able from multiple angles.
Doom one was one of the first major games that was able to be played on consoles such as Xbox, Super Nintendo Entertainment System, game boy advance and the Xbox 360, doom was not the first game to use 3d modelling as that was I robot but was one of the following games to use it, it showed to people and kids of the time that 3d modelling in gams can make the game look a little better, the player was able to circle round enemies and objects to see their shape and size.

Super Mario 64 (released 1996). Mario 64 was the first Mario game with 3D graphics that was based on open world. it is considered one of the greatest video games of all time. The models used in the game were made with Nichimen N-World tool and was one of the first 3D platformers as well as the first 3d platform game to be widely distributed making it popular. It pushed the ideas of what was possible in the gaming and console systems at the time.
Halo Combat Evolved (which was released in 2001) was one of the first 3D first person shooters it has a campaign and multiplayer for local area networks (LAN) and over internet which was rare. It has had a massive effect on the game industry as many FPS games are now called Halo clone or Halo killer as the game set the bar for the standard of the genera. Though it was not a best seller it was the base for the machinima series red vs blue made by Rooster Teeth which the show has been shown to the millions of people and is not on rooster teeth’s own website as well as places like YouTube and Netflix

Contemporary Influences:
The main 3D modelling software currently are Maya and 3Ds Max and unreal. some of the games they can be bought right now in shops and online used or still use these applications, on this software are games some popular such as Uncharted 4, For Honor, Call of Duty, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and Watch Dogs 2. These programs have become the main programs used by most people in the industry and what is mainly used to teach people how to 3D model because it is so highly used within the industry so the earlier and the more skills you are able to use and understand in these applications the better chance you will be able to be employed by companies such as EA or rare.
Creative assembly use 3D software to create models for their objects as they work on games they is asked of them by other companies, they also show off their models as well as other things such as their projects and their 2D art pieces, as well as their video skills which they can use they show these things online to show to other big names what they are caperable of and to show that they know what to do. Creative assembly also made models for the total war series they also animate in 3D software for the models they make for companies and their animations are smooth showing they also understand 3D animation.
Of course creative assembly isn’t the only one to do this, many people do this and publish what they make and what they do in a portfolio to essentially show off their skills in modeling and texturing
Some of the current minor companies using some elements of 3D modelling and animation field are companies such as Rooster teeth animation, CD project red and Creative assembly. All of these company’s produce 3D models all throughout the process and model them to fit their environment scene and fit in well of making them from conception to modelling to texturing to rendering it in to the game engine. There are lesser companies but these are the major companies that I know that aren’t to big
With Rooster teeth animation they are currently using Maya to create the models, environments, animation and lighting for the shows Red vs Blue and RWBY. They use Maya to create the unique fight scenes that is thein shown in their halo machinima series red vs blue.

Another 3D modelling application is the unreal engine which some big companies used such as gearbox and Bethesda when they made borderlands one and two, borderlands the pre sequel and they making for the third borderlands coming out let in the year, some big names have come out using the unreal engine and not just borderlands, gears of war was made by epic games using the unreal 3 engines as well as mass effects by bioware, new game still use unreal such as the open world 1st person game by rare called sea of thieves showing that if one had experience in unreal engine and how they work then you would make yourself useful and more desirable by the companies that use this software.

CD project red is a company that uses 3D modelling software to create the 3d models for their games like The popular game Witcher 3, as well as the soon to be released Cyberpunk 2077. Both of these games are open world games with many terrains, because of this they require large maps that the player is free to explore to do this they made assets then shrunk and rotated them to create the elision that there is a wider range of models than their accurately is in the game this helps to increase immersion as well as save them time and money spending on items that would be new products. This is not an unheard of
The main software that is used today are applications such as Maya, 3DS max and unreal engine. These are used by the main company’s in the field of CGI and special effects, animation and games development However some company’s also use programs like Photoshop, Substance painter and Substance designer to create textures for their objects to create life into their environment scene, back ground props, weapons and characters. The texture that where created with these programs can be stylized or realistic like for Honour which is a realistic medieval melee fighting game.
